The interaction of radiation with matter

In SINP well represented aspects of the study of interaction of radiation with matter. In such processes, there is a significant number of different phenomena, some of which lead to a change in the physical properties of solids and, therefore, related to the problem of creating materials with desired properties.

The interaction of charged particles with solids is one of the separate branches of basic physics. It includes a large variety of processes and events, some of which lead to a change in the physical properties of solids and, therefore, related to the problem of creating materials with desired properties.

  • interaction of accelerated ions with matter
  •   

  • ionizing radiation effects on materials of space technology and industrial applications
  •   

  • design research methods and diagnosis of surface protective and strengthening layers on metals, alloys, and thin-film multilayer heterogeneous structures
  •   

  • study of bulk and surface processes in nonequilibrium low-temperature plasma,
  •   

  • research study of layered structures by neutron diffraction surface (at JINR).

Since the creation of the first maser and the initial development of quantum electronics, the Institute carries out research of interaction of laser radiation with matter, among which are:
